Angie's Story

Before I was diagnosed, with my LD, ADHD and anxiety, I always felt different then everyone else. I tried so hard to fit in and pretend like nothing was wrong, until one day that pressure became too much. I felt alone, and sadness started to take over. My endless sleepless nights began and my anxiety episodes peaked. I felt discouraged, misunderstood, misjudged, embarrassed and left out, and didn’t know how to share what I felt with others. It wasn’t until I finally had the courage to open up to my friends, and writing down my feelings and thoughts in my blog that I found myself again. I am 11 years old now and want to end the stigma around kids with Learning Disabilities, ADHD, ADD and mental health in schools by raising awareness. I found my voice and want to use my experience to help others
